Bordering between art, architecture and design, the exhibition presents nineteen immersive works that thrive on interaction with the public, highlighting the fundamental contribution of women to the history of this artistic expression.
The exhibition is the next chapter in the exhibition project of “Inside Other Spaces. Environments by Women Artists 1956-1976,” initiated by the Haus der Kunst in Munich. MAXXI continues this research, expanding its original chronology by reaching up to 2010, the year of the completion of the museum’s architecture designed by Zaha Hadid.
Nanda Vigo is present with reconstructions of Ambiente cronotopico vivibile, first made in 1967 at the Galleria Apollinaire in Milan, and Ambiente spaziale: “Utopie,” made with Lucio Fontana in 1964 for the 13th Milan Triennale.
