“Enzo Mari,” London, The Design Museum, March 29-September 8, 2024.

Second international stage of the retrospective dedicated to the work of Enzo Mari (1932-2020) set up for the first time at Triennale Milano from October 2020 to September 2021. The exhibition, which has also already been presented at C-mine in Ghent (Belgium), traces more than sixty years of the Italian designer, artist, critic and theorist’s work, presenting projects, drawings, unpublished materials, video interviews and tributes from internationally renowned artists.Nanda Vigo is present with a special contribution, designed shortly before his death: “Enzo’s Zoo,” a neon installation that takes up one of Enzo Mari’s most famous works, “16 animals and 16 fish.”

“Objects of Desire: Surrealism and Design 1924 – today,” group exhibition, Lausanne, Musée cantonal de design et d’arts appliqués contemporains, March 7 – August 4, 2024

Curated by the Vitra Design Museum, the exhibition explores design from the birth of Surrealism in 1924 to the present among iconic Surrealist art and design works and contemporary counterpoints.The exhibition reveals the impact on design of one of the most influential movements of the 20th century, through questioning conventions and exploring the mind, the unconscious and the mystical.It brings together the best of Surrealist design, from furniture to interior design, fashion to photography, collecting the works of Surrealist pioneers such as Salvador Dalí, Dora Maar, Man Ray, Leonora Carrington, and Lee Miller, along with those of contemporary artists and designers, such as Schiaparelli, Dior, and Björk.Nanda Vigo is featured with the chair “Two More.”

“Lucio Fontana: Spatial Concept” Gangneung City (South Korea), reconstruction of a Vigo-Fontana environment, Sorol Art Museum, Feb. 14-April 14, 2024

The exhibition inaugurates the new Sorol Art Museum in Gangneung City, South Korea, designed by Richard Meier’s Meier Partners studio and built by the Korean Research Institute of Contemporary Art (KoRICA) Foundation. It is the first exhibition dedicated to Lucio Fontana ever organized in South Korea, curated by the Korean Research Institute of Contemporary Art in collaboration with the Lucio Fontana Foundation, and presents a selection of important works made between 1949 and the late 1960s, belonging to the Foundation’s collection, as well as six Spatial Environments presented for the first time in Asia.Nanda Vigo is present with a reconstruction of Spatial Environment: “Utopias,” made with Fontana in 1964 for the 13th Milan Triennale.

“Inside Other Spaces. Environments by Women Artists 1956-1976,” group exhibition, Munich, Stiftung Haus der Kunst, Sept. 8, 2023 – March 10, 2024

The exhibition analyzes the fundamental contribution of women artists in the development of “environment” art installations, presenting the work of eleven women artists straddling three generations and scattered across Asia, Europe, North and South America.Nanda Vigo is featured with reconstructions of Ambiente cronotopico vivibile, first made in 1967 at Galleria Apollinaire in Milan, and Ambiente spaziale: “Utopie,” made with Lucio Fontana in 1964 for the 13th Milan Triennale.

“Nanda Vigo. Cosmogonic Alphabet,” Municipal Museum of Modern Art, Ascona, April 2 – June 25, 2023

The exhibition, curated by Alberto Fiz, is the first Nanda Vigo retrospective in Switzerland. It analises the entire creative development of the artist through 40 works created between the end of the 50’s and the 2000’s, a testament to the key-phases of her career.

“Nanda Vigo, the interior space,” Museum of Decorative Arts, Bordeaux, July 07, 2022 – January 08, 2023

The exhibition, the first retrospective in France dedicated to Nanda Vigo, introduces the artist’s work through immersive installations. Art, architecture and design are addressed as total creative domains. The goal is to see, perceive, and feel all dimensions of Nanda Vigo’s artistic creation. More than a chronological presentation of her career, the exhibition offers an experience that allows the visitor to experience the “unframed” dimension of her work. Her experimental and immersive works are a testimony to her autonomy of thought and action as an artist, convinced that art is a projection that carries with it the shape of the society of the future.

“Far from Emptiness. ZERO and Post-war Art in Europe,” group exhibition, IVAM Institut Valencià d’Art Modern, Valencia, Sept. 29, 2022 – Feb. 12, 2023

The exhibition reviews the main artistic European movements between 1957 and 1966, taking as its referent the ZERO group, formed by Heinz Mack, Otto Piene and Gunter Uecker. This and other art collectives, including the Spanish Equipo 57, linked their work to magazines and publications, actions and events. The artists connected with ZERO shared a series of ideas and principles that united them beyond stylistic, material or programmatic divergences. They sought to create “ecstasy through colour” and tried to make painting “vibrate” by and in itself.

“Technologies of Enchantment,” group exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia Arte 2022, April 23-November 27, 2022

The section “Technology of Enchantment” refers to the exhibition “Programmed art. Kinetic art. Multiplied works. Open works”, organised in 1962 by Bruno Munari and Giorgio Soavi in collaboration with IT company Olivetti. The exhibition asked artist to create works of art using the at-the-time new technologies. This section includes Nanda Vigo, Marina Apollonio, Dadamaino, Lucia Di Luciano, Laura Grisi, Grazia Varisco.
